The husband pushed his wife off a moving train to get rid of her and seize her fortune, but he had no idea what would happen a few minutes later…
The train slowly crossed an old railway bridge spanning a deep canyon. Far below, the river roared and the wind whistled between the cars, making the metal structure creak slightly. A few passengers stood at the windows, gazing at the mountains bathed in the light of the setting sun.
Marina stepped onto the narrow platform between the carriages. She leaned against the cold railing and closed her eyes for a moment to quiet her thoughts. Behind her, her husband’s silhouette appeared.
Alexei approached almost silently.
“It’s magnificent, isn’t it?” he said calmly.
Marina smiled slightly and looked down.
“Very… It’s even a little unnerving. Look how high it is.”
Her husband moved even closer. Too close.
For a few seconds, he remained silent, as if gathering his thoughts. Then he said softly:
“You know… sometimes life makes things much simpler than we think.”
Marina frowned and turned to face him.
“What do you mean?”
But she heard no answer.
The next moment, Alexei shoved her abruptly with both hands.
Marina didn’t even have time to scream. Her body vanished instantly behind the railing and disappeared into the void beneath the bridge. Only her pale pink dress floated briefly in the air before disappearing below.
The train continued on its way.
Alexei remained motionless, breathless. He glanced quickly around: the platform was deserted. The door of the carriage behind him swung slightly in the breeze.
“That’s it…” he murmured. “It’s over.”
He adjusted his jacket, took a few steps back, and opened the train car door.
But at that precise moment, something unimaginable happened.

A voice called to him from the end of the corridor.
“Excuse me… were you on the platform?”
Alexei froze.
A man in his forties stood before him, a camera in his hand.
“I film my travels for my blog,” he said calmly. “An incredible bridge… I just took a video through the window.”
He raised the camera slightly.A voice called to him from the end of the corridor.

Alexei froze.
A man in his forties stood before him, a camera in his hand.
“I film my travels for my blog,” he said calmly. “An incredible bridge… I just took a video through the window.”
He raised the camera slightly.
“And I think… the video shows everything that just happened.”
A shiver ran down Alexei’s spine.
“The train will be stopping at the station soon,” the man added in a low voice. “I think… we should talk to the conductor.”
Alexei didn’t reply. He didn’t yet know that the worst was yet to come.
Because under the bridge, something unexpected was happening.
Marina fell into the void for several long seconds. The wind whipped her face, the air took her breath away. But just below the bridge flowed a wide mountain river.
Her body crashed into the water with incredible force.
Cold seeped through her from head to toe. For a moment, she lost consciousness, but the current brought her back to the surface. Marina desperately gasped for air and tried to stay afloat.
On the bank, not far away, was a fishing boat. Two men had first heard the crash, then spotted a woman in the water.
“Someone in the water! Quick!” one of them shouted.
They steered the boat toward her and, within minutes, they had pulled Marina aboard. She was pale, shivering with cold, but she was alive.
“Who did this?” asked one of the fishermen, covering her with a jacket.
Marina opened her eyes with difficulty.

—My husband…—she whispered.
Meanwhile, the train was approaching the next station. Alexei stood by the window, trying to appear calm.
He didn’t know that the woman he had just pushed off the bridge had miraculously survived… and that the police would soon be waiting for him on the platform.
