The colonel wanted to humiliate the new pilot, but when he saw who was really standing before him, he was speechless.
Colonel Adam was observing the new pilot at the airbase. She wasn’t wearing the regulation uniform, only a badge pinned to her white t-shirt. She walked calmly, with an almost defiant confidence.
She approached the colonel and stopped in front of him without lowering her gaze.
Adam looked her up and down. “Where’s your uniform, pilot? Here, we follow the rules.”
She replied calmly, “I’ll wear it on official missions. For now, I’m in the induction phase, as stated in the regulations.”
Around them, a few soldiers slowed their pace, sensing the rising tension. Adam gave a cold smile. He enjoyed humiliating new recruits, seeing them lose their confidence in seconds. And here, he saw an ideal target.
“You think you can teach me my own regulations?” “He snapped.
“No, Colonel. I simply intend to do my job.”
Her composure only angered him further. “Very well. Tomorrow at dawn, test flight. We’ll see if your confidence survives at 3,000 meters.”
She nodded. “I’ll be ready.”
At that moment, Adam’s only thought was to humiliate the young pilot in front of everyone, but when he discovered who was really standing before him, everything changed.
The next morning, Adam went to the runway, his eyes still fixed on the new pilot, but a strange feeling came over him. He was observing her, preparing to test her, when a senior officer approached him.
“Colonel, you need to know something… this pilot isn’t what she seems. She comes from Alpha-7.”

The name echoed in Adam’s mind.
Alpha-7… the secret unit that vanished after the failed Delta operation, where almost all of its members perished.
There were only two survivors, and one of them… was her.

The other was Adam’s brother, whom she had saved.
Guilt, gratitude—it all came flooding back in an instant.
“I… I… you couldn’t have known…” Adam murmured, his voice trembling.
She simply replied, “I never sought recognition, Colonel.”
