Thugs in a dark alley attacked a defenseless young woman, trying to rob her and using force, but what happened minutes later froze them in horror… The waitress was heading home after a very difficult shift. On normal days, she tried to avoid night shifts, but that day a colleague had asked her to cover for him, and Emma hadn’t been able to refuse. When she finally left the restaurant, there was almost no one left on the street, and it was around one in the morning.
Emma didn’t live in the safest part of town, and to get home, she had to cross a long, dark alley. This alley always frightened her, even in broad daylight, and at night it seemed even more sinister.
When she reached the beginning of the alley, Emma paused for a second, took her keys out of her bag, and clutched them tightly. She always did this when she felt uneasy. She knew it wasn’t a real weapon, but at least it gave her the feeling of being able to defend herself.
After taking a few cautious steps, she continued on. At first, everything was quiet. Only her footsteps echoed between the walls.
And suddenly, a huge black cat leaped out from under the trash cans.
Emma jumped and exhaled softly. Her heart raced for a moment, but she quickly tried to calm herself and continued walking.
She had almost gone halfway down the alley when two men appeared in front of her, emerging from the darkness.
They were standing in the passageway, as if they had been waiting for her. Both were tall, muscular, with tattoos on their arms. Their faces and hazy eyes clearly showed they were drunk.
“Hey, beautiful…” one of them said, smiling askance. “Where are you going at this hour?”
Emma didn’t answer. She simply tried to get around them and keep walking.

But the men immediately stepped forward and blocked his path.
At that moment, one of them noticed the keys clutched in his hand.
He smirked and gestured to his friend.
“Take a look…” he said. “She really thinks she can stop someone with that.”
They both burst out laughing.
“And that’s what you thought you could use to disarm a criminal?” the second man continued, tilting his head mockingly. “Seriously?” Emma remained silent, feeling the tension tighten within her.
“Take off your jacket,” the first man said abruptly. “And take out everything you have in your pockets. Your phone, your money. Everything.”
“I won’t give you anything,” Emma replied softly.
And that was her biggest mistake. After these words, the men’s faces changed sharply. Their smiles vanished, and anger appeared in their eyes.

One of them stepped forward, grabbed Emma by the collar of her jacket, and yanked her roughly toward him.
“Listen to me,” he growled right in her face. “Now you give us everything quietly. Otherwise, this is going to end very badly for you.”
At that moment, they were sure they were completely in control of the situation. Neither of them imagined what would happen a few seconds later.
“I said no,” Emma repeated calmly.
The boys exchanged a glance and lunged at her. But everything happened so fast that they didn’t even have time to understand what had happened.
Emma suddenly broke free and, with a precise movement, struck the first man in the solar plexus. He doubled over and fell to his knees. The second man tried to grab her arm, but she immediately turned, kicked him in the knee, and pushed him away with her shoulder.
A few seconds later, they were both lying on the cold asphalt.
One was breathing heavily, the other groaning as he tried to get up. Emma stood over them, gasping for air.
A few years earlier, she had been an athlete and had even earned her teaching certificate. But a serious injury had forced her to abandon her career and start a new life.
The boys didn’t know that.
She glanced quickly around, made sure no one else was nearby, and without wasting a second, ran toward the alley exit.
Because Emma understood perfectly well one very simple thing. She had made it this time. But who knows what such people are still capable of when they come to their senses.
